# Prepare your brand facts and customer questions before starting GEO

GEO discussions often start with a wish to appear in AI recommendations. Before arranging work, clarify which brand facts can be verified and what customers actually need to know before choosing.

## Document the facts

Prepare the official brand name, website, product or service descriptions, target markets and contact details. Attach sources and update dates for certifications, specifications, coverage and any case study. Mark unsupported items as open questions.

A useful brief has three columns: the fact, its source and the person who can confirm it. Resolve conflicting statements before changing public pages.

## Start with customer decisions

Use recurring questions from sales conversations, support records and customer feedback. A software buyer might ask which teams a product serves, which file formats it handles, how pricing works and what setup requires. These are illustrative questions, not client data.

Record the audience, market and language for each question. A single question set should not automatically represent every market.

## Make explanations verifiable

Organize useful answers, conditions, limitations and contact steps. Keep facts and related pages current.

Google's [AI search guidance](https://developers.google.com/search/docs/appearance/ai-features) says existing SEO foundations remain relevant to AI Overviews and AI Mode, without additional special optimization requirements. This describes Google's search features, not a universal rule for every AI platform.

## Agree on the work

Define a fact-checking list, customer questions, pages to revise and a way to record answer observations. Name the facts that the customer must confirm and the questions that remain unresolved.

These deliverables describe work performed. They do not guarantee citations, recommendations or sales.

Bring your website, main products, markets and recurring questions to the [contact page](/contact/) to discuss scope.

This is general preparation guidance drafted with AI assistance. Methods and deliverables require project-specific agreement.
